How to apply

Anyone based in Europe meeting the eligibility criteria below, including those outside of the project, can apply to go to any of the project partners located outside of their home country to utilize the facilities. The project will cover the cost of travel and subsistence (see note 1 below) and will pay for the costs of access and support.

Prospective visitors must contact the proposed host before submitting an application to discuss ideas and make provisional plans.

Eligibility for Transnational Access in BRISK

  • Individuals or teams of researchers (herein called ‘users’) are eligible to apply.
  • Individual users must be based in organizations within the European Research Area (see note 2 below). A user-group composed of a team of researchers must have its team leader and majority of its members based in such organizations.
  • Users should have at least a BSc in a relevant Science or Engineering Discipline. The infrastructure for transnational access must be based in a country outside that of the user’s own organization.
  • Priority is given to users who normally do not have access to similar research infrastructure within the country that he/she is based.
  • First-time users to the given infrastructure are prioritized.
  • Applications on the relevant form must be submitted to the Coordinator at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.

Notes

  1. A standard rate of 1400 Euros will be normally applied to each user-project, covering airfare, lodging, meal allowance and local transportation for eligible members of the user-group.
  2. Comprised of the EU Member States (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom) plus Associated States and Candidate Countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, FYR Macedonia, Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland, and Turkey).

Application form

Eligible researchers are invited to submit proposals by completing the following three steps:

  1. Complete the Transnational Access Application Form: doc format 
  2. Email completed form to the Project Coordinator, Professor Andrew Martin at KTH
  3. Also email the completed form to the host organisation’s contact person. A full listing of contacts and their email addresses can be found here.

Application feedback

An independent evaluation panel will review all proposals received, and after evaluation, applicants will receive a formal notification by KTH.
